Kukuriku Haiku

The surf-roar of the crowd
across the meadow / outside in the near distance / coming in on the wind
through the open bathroom window:

Football when I was a kid
of suburbian roots / in misshapen walls half buried / in my parents house;
Lacrosse this time around.

In both cases identically
hisspopping / rising and fading like radio / distant,
invisible, desired, unjoined.
